A phone line that stays with the church, not the vicar.
Yes — your church can have a telephone line using its broadband connection.
Modern telephone services no longer need a separate traditional copper phone line. We can provide your church with a digital VoIP telephone service using the same internet connection that provides your church WiFi.
If you already have a church telephone number, we can usually move it onto the new service. If you don't, we can provide a new local number for your area. Calls can ring a telephone in the church, an app on a mobile or computer, or be routed to different people at different times.
This gives the church one permanent published number that stays with the church even when clergy, churchwardens or staff change — without anyone having to publish their personal mobile number.
Litenet has a solution for just that. Our VoIP telephone system can be delivered over the internet connection and benefits from all of the features below, built in!!

If you already have a church phone number, we can usually move it onto our system so you can keep the number people already know. If not, we can provide a new number relevant to your local area, giving the church its own permanent contact number without relying on anyone’s personal mobile.

The communicator app can be downloaded onto Windows, Apple or Android devices and connects directly with your church number. There’s no complicated setup, and you can make or receive church calls wherever you have an internet connection — at home, in church, even when you’re in Tesco!

If required, calls can be recorded and retained for up to 30 days before being automatically deleted. An automated message can advise callers that recording is taking place, and call recording can be disabled completely if it isn't required. Churches using call recording should ensure that its use is appropriate for their organisation and covered by their privacy and data-protection procedures.

We can provide a cordless WiFi phone for a small additional monthly fee. Ideal for use in the church office when more than one member of staff might need it. Works anywhere there is WiFi, so you can even take it home!

Using time of day routing means calls will only come through during the times and days that you set. Outside of these times you can send them straight to voicemail, to a home phone line, or even a mobile number.

Get an email alert as soon as someone leaves a message, with a transcript of the message and the audio file attached. No more having to dial into voicemail systems, no more having to listen to "answerphone" messages on the phone in the office.
Our basic plans include a smartphone app, voicemail transcription and 500 free minutes! Great value for money for small churches. Give your Church a number and keep your mobile phone number private with Litenet's smart and intuitive telephone system.

Yes! If we provide the broadband connection for your church, we can also provide a VoIP telephone service using the same internet connection. There is no need to have a separate traditional telephone line installed, and your church can have its own local telephone number.
Absolutely. Replacing a published church number is an unnecessary pain, so in most cases we can transfer your existing number onto our system. We simply need proof that the number belongs to the church, usually a recent telephone bill, and we’ll help you through the transfer process.
No. The mobile app is included and can be used instead of a traditional telephone. For a busy church office, we can also provide compatible desk phones or cordless handsets. If several people need to answer the church number, we can provide multiple phones or allow the number to ring on several devices.
The telephone service itself remains active, but equipment inside the church such as the broadband router, Wi-Fi and telephone handset will normally stop working if there is no power. A mobile phone using our app may still receive church calls using its 4G or 5G connection. If continued operation of the equipment inside the church is important, we can also provide a UPS battery backup as part of the installation.
Yes. The church number can ring several phones or mobile apps, either at the same time or in a particular order. Calls can also be routed differently depending on the time of day, so the church has one permanent public number without relying on a single person’s personal mobile.
